Dunes at Whitesands

Hideaway and meadow camping pitches just a few minutes walk from Whitesands beach near St Davids.

About: Dunes Campsite sits above the famous Whitesands Beach, this award winning blue flag beach, a large expanse of golden sand, is the jewel in the crown of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and one of the finest surfing beaches in the country. The beach and coast path are easily reached via a quiet “no through road" and footpath while the picturesque cathedral city of St David’s is just minutes away in land.

Our hideaway camping pitches are nestled in 10 acres of wild Pembrokeshire countryside, where dunes, bracken, and willow herb provide natural privacy and shelter. The pitches, both hideaway and meadow, are unusually spacious. You will not be crammed in here as there is more than enough room to spread out and enjoy yourselves. Each pitch is complete with a picnic table and fire pit.

The site’s elevated position affords it sea views and spectacular sunsets and at night the lack of artificial light gives rise to the most amazing night skies which can be enjoyed while relaxing around your campfire listening to the pounding of the waves.
 We have an amazing shower block, modern and clean, these facilities which were brand new in 2019, include free hot showers with underfloor heating, flushing toilets, a large family bathroom, hot and cold washing up, fridges, freezers and charging points. An endless supply of hot water is provided by an ingenious mix of solar and green electric power while outside, there is a partially covered 'hot' shower for rinsing off after a day on the beach.
