About: Restore your mind, body and soul at Orchid Meadows, a 25-acre re-wilding nature reserve near Tregaron in West Wales.

Use our site to unwind and reconnect with nature, or as a springboard to explore the beautiful cliffs, coves and beaches of Cardigan Bay or the rugged and little-visited Cambrian Mountains.   Our retreat welcomes couples, solo travellers, families, multi-generational groups and groups of friends. Stay in our family-friendly Red Kite Yurt, set in a flower meadow, or our dog-friendly Goldfinch Glampavan, tucked away in a private spot beneath a peach tree in the orchard.

Each accommodation offers plenty of character, along with its own field kitchen complete with a gas cooker, a firebowl and a pizza oven. Private shower and flush toilet facilities are also provided.

Enjoy a stroll through our meadows, listening to the gentle buzz of insects as you search for wild orchids. Pause to watch red kites and buzzards soaring overhead, while stonechats flit through the gorse. In the evening, watch the sun set and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of a barn owl gliding through the dusk before the tawny owls begin their nightly calls.

Savour the gentle scent of wood smoke and perhaps create a barbecue feast, or fire up the pizza oven instead. End the day with a glass of wine or a hot drink around the firebowl, beneath dark night skies filled with stars. You could even head out to explore the Dark Sky Discovery Sites along the Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail!

Worth Noting: Follow our nature trail and explore the orchard with a handy guide. Relax in waterside hammocks, discover the Green Man willow village, or Greek garden. Enjoy a welcome box of homemade, dietary-aware cakes, along with free organic produce and fresh eggs.

Each accommodation comes with its own field kitchen, Kadai firebowl and pizza oven. Optional croissant breakfasts and guided walks are available, plus private mains bathroom facilities for added comfort.
