Milkwood Camping
Set in a young oak woodland, on the banks of the River Taf, just outside Laugharne - home of Dylan Thomas.
About Milkwood Camping: The campsite has been wild land for more than 20 years and really is in the middle of nowhere.
Facilities are basic but setup for the classic rustic camping experience. There is a kitchen, eating areas, storage and work surfaces. A sink and rainwater-fed water system let you do basic washing, with drinking water coming in 10ltr containers, refillable at the farm house.
The washing facilities are traditional with a wood-fired stove and wash down showers - plus a wood-fired sauna. The position of the sauna is right on the banks of the Taf and gives sensational views down the estuary. The whole area is beautiful and untouched, so wildlife is abundant. From the bird life of the river and woods to the night life of Welsh wild lands, expect close encounters with all sorts of wonderful creatures!
Delacorse is an 18th century farm with farm house, outbuildings and extensive gardens. The farm is a sustainable home for the family with vegetable gardens and biomass heating.
Worth Noting: The 'hangout' is positioned with the best views over the estuary and looking out over the campsite. The simple shelter has plenty of space for eating under cover and preparing food.
