Stunning views and a great campsite for those wishing to explore the Llyn Peninsula and all its natural beauty
About: Penllechog is located on a working beef and sheep farm at the base of Gurn Ddu. The camp field itself is situated in a very well sheltered three acre field. It is surrounded by beautiful tall conifer trees.
We have five pitches, each with a campfire. There are two hot showers, two eco toilets and a washing up area. Our water comes from natural springs that are located at various points at the foot of Gurn Ddu. We are too high up for a mains water supply. Although we are high up and a good mile from the nearest village, you will be surprised at how central a location Penllechog is. Minutes drive from Trevor beach, 15 minutes from Nefyn and its two spectacular beaches and twenty minutes drive from the beautiful village of Abersoch. On the way to Abersoch you will drive through the seaside town of Pwllheli. Travel to the north and within 15 miles you will find Caernarfon and its amazing castle. A little bit further and you will reach Snowdonia.
In our local village of Llanaelhaearn, there is an award winning bakery that bakes bread, cakes and savories daily. We are more than happy to take orders for sausage rolls, pasties, bread and cakes - and are able to prepare a wonderful package of goodies waiting for you on your arrival.
Milk and water we can keep cool for you in our fridge located in a barn a short walk from the campsite. Milk and daily papers can be purchased at our local garage in the village. Again we are happy to take your orders in advance.
Kiln dried firewood and firelighters are available on site for a reasonable price.
At Penllechog we hope you will enjoy the peace and quiet and the relaxed and laid back feel of the site. Our wish is that campers here enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the unspoilt natural surroundings. Guests who visit in May will camp next to our newly born lambs and their mothers.
We welcome dogs, but kindly ask that they be under full control at all times.
Worth Noting: Penllechog is perfectly situated for you to explore the Llyn Peninsula and Caernarfon, or grander outings to Snowdonia and Anglesey.
