Cotna Eco Retreat
Come back to earth, breathe deep and be inspired by nature - within walking distance of the south Cornish coast
About: Cotna Eco Retreat offers a unique combination of eco-accommodation with great food and learning experiences on an organic smallholding. Our local pub & village shop are a 10-minute walk up our track and the sea is a 30-minute walk down the valley, where you can hire kayaks and SUP’s. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful coastline in Cornwall, close to the south-west coastpath and just down the road from The Lost Gardens of Heligan and close to The Eden Project.
Glamping & Camping: Our three beautiful yurts are peacefully tucked away down by the woodland, with additional camping space alongside each one. Decorated with Turkish & Mongolian kilims and Indian silks, they are equipped with wood-burners, cooking facilities, double beds and single mattresses. There is a fire-bowl, picnic table and washing-up sink outside each yurt and you have your own private compost loo. The cosy shepherd’s hut is next to the stream with its own little fire-pit garden and a kitchen shed nearby.
The Cotna Experience: Much more than just a yurt farm, we provide an inspiring example of a different way of living. We won the Cornwall Sustainability Award for Land Management & Environmental Growth in 2016, reflecting our ethos of living in harmony with the land, creating an oasis of wildlife diversity for the benefit of all.
The Food: Great food has always been a central part of Cotna life and we are happy to provide home-produced treats from our organic gardens and farmhouse kitchen. All vegetarian with vegan options, hampers include breakfast and evening meals or just the veg to go with your BBQ’s
The Courses: We thrive on the link between what’s growing around us and creating lovely food (Covid restrictions permitting.) Courses include wild food foraging, seasonal cooking, sourdough bread-making and no-dig gardening.
Connecting Body and Earth: Complementary massage treatments are available in our roundhouse - a great way to unwind, reconnect and ground yourself.
Worth Noting: Bookings for 3, 5 or 7 nights with check-in on Mondays & Fridays, one-week only during school holidays. A detailed walk guide of 10 local walks on our website. The nearby Paddle Shed offers kayak hire. Delicious food & hampers to order!
