About: Situated on the picturesque Shropshire/Welsh border, Wild Contentment offers ten spacious pitches across eight acres of stunning green countryside, providing the perfect setting to relax and find true contentment. This off-grid campsite ensures peace and seclusion, allowing ample space between pitches, while still offering a touch of luxury for added comfort. As featured in The Times, The Telegraph, and Simple Things magazine, Wild Contentment is your ideal countryside retreat.

Our site welcomes tents, caravans, motorhomes, roof tents, dogs, and families. With ten level grass pitches thoughtfully spaced around the field, there’s plenty of room to relax while the central play area offers space to kick a ball or enjoy games, all surrounded by nature. Evenings can be spent gathered around the campfire, spotting wildlife, or gazing at the stars.

Our Unique Selling Point: Our Beryl bathrooms are a standout feature, offering an indoor shower, copper roll-top bath, hand basin, flushing toilet and an outdoor sink—all for your exclusive use on your pitch. It’s a truly unique experience; after all, who wouldn’t enjoy a luxurious bath in the middle of a field? You can even adjust the back of the trailer to bring you closer to nature. Thoughtfully positioned around the field, the bathrooms are carefully placed to ensure your privacy.

We love hearing feedback and continually strive to create a unique experience for our campers. That’s why, for the 2025 season, we’re excited to introduce our cheese platters. These come with cast iron pans, artisan cheese from Cote Hill and a selection of delicious accompaniments, including grapes, figs, walnuts and honey—all prepared and ready in our customer fridge. Simply heat the platter over your fire and enjoy with a fresh baguette and a glass of red wine. To add this special treat to your stay, please enquire when booking.

The campsite is located at the farm end of our working dairy farm, home to a herd of 100 milking cows. Guests are welcome to visit and watch the milking process or even help feed the calves.

Onsite, we have a stream, play vehicles, and a rope swing to keep children (and adults) happily entertained for hours, allowing everyone to enjoy a well-earned break.

Nearby attractions include pubs, shop, rock climbing, horse-riding, kayaking on the Montgomery canal, lots of great walks including Offas Dyke 1/2 mile away.

Further afield we have Alderford Lake, Pistyll Rhyadaer waterfall (England and Wales tallest), Chester Zoo, Crocky trail, Quad bike trekking, Bewilderwood Cheshire, Bala lake, Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Wroxeter Roman City, four national trust sites and the UNESCO site Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Llangollen

Worth Noting: There is a shower and sink onsite for those not hiring a Beryl bathroom. Campfires are standard on all pitches. Parking is allowed next to your pitch. Although off-grid there is a fridge located at the farm for sole use of campers with 24hr access. There are also charging points for phones or other electrical equipment
