Runnis Meadow Camping
The ideal base camp from which to explore the rural delights of Shropshire.
About: Runnis Meadow is a brand new campsite in 2022, located on the western edge of the Shropshire Hills AONB, with good access to a number of popular walking trails.
The camping meadow is situated in the basin of a valley, alongside the small River West Onny - a tributary of the River Teme. The site offers 10 pitches for camping and caravanning, with shared toilet and shower facilities.
Access to the site is easy via the A488 - the main road that runs from Shrewsbury (A5) to Penybont, near Llandrindod Wells (A44).
Nearby towns include: Bishops Castle - a small country town on the English side of the border with four pubs. The town acts as a hub for the nearby countryside and is often a stopover during walking or cycling trips. Church Stoke - a village on the Welsh side of the border. Welshpool - the nearest large town. Offers everything you would expect from a town its size, including several pubs and restaurants.
Popular tourist destinations nearby include the Stiperstones and Long Mynd to the east, Offa’s Dyke to the south and Roundton Hill Nature Reserve to the west. Further out, you’ll find even more historical attractions, including Stokesay Castle, Ludlow Castle and Clun Castle.
